Tõnu Kaljuste has been appointed as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir as of 1 August. His first project of the tenure are concerts on 7 and 8 August in Tallinn and Viljandi with music by Veljo Tormis on the occasion of his 91st birthday.
Vox Clamantis is nominated for OPUS KLASSIK with the album Cyrillus Kreek: The Suspended Harp of Babel for ECM Records in the category choir music. On 10 October the award celebration will take place at Berlin Konzerthaus.
Les Vents Francais are nominated for OPUS KLASSIK in category Chamber Music 19th century for their album Romantique with music by George Onslow, Louis Spohr and August Klughardt. The award presentation will take place at Konzerthaus Berlin on 10 October.
For the two albums Mozart: Requiem with Chorwerk Ruhr, Concerto Köln and soloists for Coviello Records as well as Praetorius & Italy with RIAS Kammerchor and Capella de la Torre for deutsche harmonia mundi Florian Helgath has been nominated for OPUS KLASSIK in the category choir music. The award presentation will take place at Konzerthaus Berlin on 10 October.
The multipercussionist Christian Benning presents a solo performance in Dachau, Ludwig-Thoma-Haus on 18 and 30 May with music by Iannis Xenakis, Isaac Albeniz,
Mark Glentworth, Casey Cangelosi, Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic, Wolfgang Reifeneder as well as own compositions and arrangements.Read more
