Mourning for Peter Sadlo

After a short illness and incredibly unexpected, Peter Sadlo has passed away. The music world lost a brilliant artist, passionate musician and a tireless mentor.

The youngest solo timpanist in the history of the Munich

Philharmonic has significantly emancipated percussion as a solo instrument since his unanimous victory of the ARD Music Competition in 1985.

Sadlo enhanced an entire generation of young percussionists with whom he maintained a close artistic friendship and gave joint concert performances. His colleagues and students lose due to his death a reliable companion and likesome human being.
