Florian Helgath: Grammy nomination for Mansurian Requiem

The recording of Tigran Mansurian's Requiem of the Munich Chamber Orchestra and RIAS Chamber Choir for ECM Records with the preparation of the choir by Florian Helgath has been nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Choral Performance.

Mourning for Peter Sadlo

After a short illness and incredibly unexpected, Peter Sadlo has passed away. The music world lost a brilliant artist, passionate musician and a tireless mentor.

The youngest solo timpanist in the history of the Munich

Philharmonic has significantly emancipated percussion as a solo instrument since his unanimous victory of the ARD Music Competition in 1985.

Sadlo enhanced an entire generation of young percussionists with whom he maintained a close artistic friendship and gave joint concert performances. His colleagues and students lose due to his death a reliable companion and likesome human being.
