Risto Joost directs the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Chamber Choir and soloists in Alkmaar on 1 March, Concertgebouw Amsterdam on 2 and 3 March, and Haarlem on 4 March. The programme features the first performance of Guillaume Connesson's Liturgies de Lumière for chamber orchestra and choir, Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and the Fauré Requiem.

Mourning for Peter Sadlo

After a short illness and incredibly unexpected, Peter Sadlo has passed away. The music world lost a brilliant artist, passionate musician and a tireless mentor.

The youngest solo timpanist in the history of the Munich

Philharmonic has significantly emancipated percussion as a solo instrument since his unanimous victory of the ARD Music Competition in 1985.

Sadlo enhanced an entire generation of young percussionists with whom he maintained a close artistic friendship and gave joint concert performances. His colleagues and students lose due to his death a reliable companion and likesome human being.

The ambitious Arcis Saxophone Quartet is on festival tour on 11 August in Oberstdorf, 12 August in Goslar, 13 August in Messdorf and on 21 August in Grafenegg performing works by György Ligeti, Alexander Glasunov, J.S. Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Fabien Levy.
